What causes Blepharitis?

Blepharitis is a medical term for inflammation of the eyelids. It is often caused by blockage of the glands in the lids called Meibomian glands. These glands produce an oil that makes up part of the tear solution. Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) can be treated as a separate condition from Blepharitis – see MGD Products and Treatments.
